Tea: A drink that is deemed the second most widely consumed beverage in the world, has been known for thousands of years to provide health benefits to many cultures. It is only recently, on the blogosphere, that the 'Teatox' has officially came into play.

A Teatox is, as you can probably guess from the name, a 'detox tea'; a cleanse that can help people lose weight. Many social media sites are now awash with 'before and after' pictures of people who have lost weight by simply going through a teatox but.... I don't always believe what I see!

If you've read my last post, you will know that through the summer I am trying out various teatoxes to form my own opinion of them and share my results with you all! After I have tried them all, I will bring all of my teatox reviews into one post for a comparison! So if you want to try a teatox in the near future, stay tuned!

This post is about the CLEANcheats Teatox.

WHO ARE CLEANCHEATS?

CLEANcheats are an Australian based health and wellness brand who promote a healthy, active and balanced lifestyle.

THE DETOX TEA?

The CLEANcheats detox tea is a caffeine-free herbal blend (based on Chinese medicinals) which cleanses and revitalises the body.

It is said to:
- assist with weightless by increasing metabolism
- clear toxins
- reduce bloating
- aid digestion
- promote healthy skin
- give you energy

TEATOX

The teatox pack comes with a 14 daytime tea and a 7 day bedtime tea (to be taken every second night) - 21 teabags altogether.

The Daytime Detox is to be taken every morning, before breakfast.

The Bedtime Cleanse is to be taken every second night, 15 minutes before bedtime or dinner along with a glass of water.

INGREDIENTS

• Daytime Detox Ingredients - Proprietary Blend of Herb, Red clover flowering top, herb, Burdock root, Astragalus root, Ginger root, Fo-ti (he shou wu) root, Chinese mint leaf, Kudzu (pueraria) root, Asian plantain leaf, Lysimachia root, herb, Chinese cinnamon bark, Isatis root, leaf, Solomon’s seal rhizome, Duckweed (spirodela) root, Licorice root, Schisandra fruit, Tokyo violet root, herb, Dandelion root, herb, Japanese honeysuckle flower.

• Bedtime Cleanse Ingredients - Senna, Malve Leaves, Licorice Root, National Cranberry and Rasberry Flavor Panax Ginseng Root.

TASTE

The taste of this tea took a bit of getting used to! However, with a teaspoon of honey or a slice of lemon, it was drinkable.

EFFECTIVENESS:

I definitely noticed results with the CLEANcheats teatox. I saw an improvement in my skin and energy levels and it seemed to get rid of excess 'water weight'. Also, the fact that this was only a 14 day detox made it much easier to stick to than other brands I have tried.

I know from reading other reviews of this product, it seems to have different effects/benefits for different people but then everyone is different so this has to be expected! However, for me, it has been around two months since I finished my teatox and I was definitely seeing some benefits, even a month after.

The 14 day teatox that I received (with the daytime cleanse and bedtime cleanse) costs $27 AUD (equating to around £15.00) which is significantly lower than some of the other teatox brands. You can also buy the Daytime Detox and Bedtime Cleanse separately on their website, each costing $17 AUD (£9.00). If I were to recommend just one of the teas, I would say that the Bedtime Cleanse definitely has the biggest effect on digestive cleansing and bloating!
