Superfoods On Pause: Cake Design

The superfoods are on pause for tonight; I've already planned my post but I've not got time to put it together as, again, I've had an extremely busy weekend. This has resulted in all of my uni work getting left until tonight and tomorrow! So lets just say, it's going to be a late night. :(

Just a quick post to say... Look what I made today!

This was a birthday cake for my niece's sixteen birthday. She loves wearing skull clothes and jewellery so I thought it would be nice to make a skull cake for her. I was literally making and decorating this cake for 6 hours! My back is in agony from standing up all day! Anyway, here's some close up pictures of it:

I had to put red ribbon around the cake to cover up the mess of the icing; the cake was a funny shape as it was all pieced together...I stupidly forgot to use greaseproof paper so they were murder to take out of the tins!

I used halved jelly beans and pink piping to surround the bottom.

These flowers took forever! The coloured bits above the eyes are actually butterflies!

I'll be back with my superfoods tomorrow (hopefully, if I get all of this work done)! Hope you have all had a good weekend. :)
